Cabin crew dance the safety demonstration
I think that this is very nice idea. Most passengers usually don't listen to safety demonstration, but this is a way that make passengers hear the imfomation. Safety demonstration is important for fear that some accidents happen. Therefore, I think that this way is a good idea.
My word and person and event of the year 2010
My word of the year 2010 is “Banzai!” This is because I often use this word when I feel happy. When I hear d success in the examination, I said “Banzai”
My person of the year 2010 is Haruki Murakami. I read novels written by him first time. I came to like his novels. He is my favorite novelist by now.
My event of the year 2010 is entrance to Keio university. I failed an entrance examination last year, so I went to juku for 1 year and study hard. When I heard success in the examination, I was really happy.

Thames Walk-the history of Tower Bridge-
There is Public Foot Path in Britain. We can pass the private road if the road is specified for Public Foot Path. There is Public Foot Path near Thames, which is called Thames Path. If you want to walk Thames river running, you can use Thames Path. When you walk Thames Path, you can see a lot of bridge at river Thames such as “London Bridge”, “Lambeth Bridge” and “Tower Bridge”. I introduce one of them. Tower Bridge is in London. As you know, Tower Bridge opens and closes when ships pass. There are two towers in both ends in Tower Bridge and it is 40m tall. There are museums and observatory spaces in their towers. The history of Tower Bridge is following. In the latter half of the 19th century, a new bridge was requested because East End of London became densely populated. However, the bridge was not able to be constructed because it became the trouble of entering port. In order to solve this problem, the committee was established in1876. The committee advertised for the design. Finally, the design of Horace Jones, who was the urban architecture, was adopted among a lot of design ideas in 1884. Construction of this bridge started in 1886, and it completed in1894. It took 432 construction workers.

Feature of Japanese movies and American movies
Today, there are more than 650 cinemas in Japan. This shows that more Japanese watch movies, and like them. There are Japanese movies and American movies in Japan. They have different feature. These features are following. First, American movies, especially Holly wood movies, is supposed to give viewer more dynamic and powerful impression, such as The Terminator, Rocky and Spider-Man. The story of American movies is very simple in common. On the other hand, Japanese movies have visual clarity, such as Departures, Princess Mononoke and Twilight Samurai, but these Japanese movies are not so dynamic and powerful.
Second, I explain bad point of movies of two countries. American movies is more violence and sexual than Japanese movies. Some people say that this feature of American movies gives bad effect to children. In fact, there are dates that more children become violent after watching American violence movies. We can point out that this feature is bad point of American movies. Meanwhile, bad point of Japanese movies is the monotonous of the story. Of course, there are some Japanese movies which story is so sophisticated and lyric, but it is generally said that the story of Japanese movies is tedious. Though some may criticize this opinion about Japanese movies, but I think that this feature is one of bad points.
Third, I explain film genre. The number of S.F. genre movies in America is higher than in Japan. The representatives of them are Star Wars, Alien and War of the world. Most these S.F. movies use Computer Graphics. Thus, American movies use Computer Graphics than Japanese movies. This is one of the features of American movies. In contrast, the more popular genre of Japanese movies are human-drama and historical story, such as Seven Samurai, Poppoya and Crying out love, in the center of the world. These features show that American movies are unrealistic but Japanese movies are realistic.
In my opinion, we can find that the difference of features reflects national character of two countries. On the other words, I mean that American is more powerful and aggressive, and Japanese is quiet and realistic. However, it is naturally that there is difference between American movies and Japanese movies because there is cultural difference.

Beer culture in Britain
Britain likes beer, and there are many kind of beer in Britain. There are two types of beer in Britain. First type is stout beer. Because stout means strong in English, stout type of beer tastes bitter and sour strongly. The representative of this type is Guinness. Guinness is very famous in Japan too. This beer is made by the Guinness company, which is famous to Guinness Record. The birthplace of it is Ireland. This beer is a first stout beer of all over the world. Its tasting feature is creamy bubbling, and its taste is very bitter. Britain drinks this beer in Pubs. To tell the truth, the beer market in Britain is a monopolistic situation of Guinness. Second type is Ale beer. In general, Britain drinks Pale Ale which is one type of Ale beer. The feature of this beer is the flavor. The flavor of this beer has a light and fruity taste. This is why it is easy to drink. It is brewed by using the malted barley of subtle colors. Britain calls it “bitter” in Pubs because its color is brawn. In Japan people drink and like cool beer. On the other hand, Britain drinks beer at room temperature. This may surprise you, but Ale beer and stout beer taste good at room temperature. The reason is that Britain has drunk beer before refrigerator was invited. Thus the kind of beer in Britain is different to beer of Japan, and beer of Britain is drunk by different way.

Japan’s TV soap
There are a lot of songs which became famous because of Japan's TV soap operas. I introduce some of them. First is "Love so sweet". "Love so sweet" is theme song of "Boys Over Flowers 2", in Japanese "HANAYORIDANGO 2". This is one of the most popular Japan's TV soap operas. "Boys Over Flowers 2" was broadcasted in 2007. Many people, especially around teen age, watched the program. This is why "Love so sweet" became famous. Actuary, the song got No.1 in 2007.3 weekly song's ranking. The other reason why "Love so sweet" became famous is that it is sung by ARASHI. They are one of most popular singer groups. Second is "Everything" which is sung by MISIA. The song was the theme song of "YAMATONADESHIKO". This program is the second highest TV program of an audience rating in history. Of course, I also watched it, and I listen to the song many times. I think that nobody in Japan has heard this song. Thus, you can find many songs that became famous because of Japan's TV soap operas. In my opinion, the reason why the theme songs of Japan’s TV soap operas become famous is that the TV programs are watched by many people.

English Pubs and Izakaya-Japanese taverns-
Do you know English Pubs or Izakaya? English Pubs are Public House in Britain where guests drink mainly beer and eat some foods. Izakaya is Japanese taverns, and guests drink and eat some foods there. In Izakaya guests drink mainly beer, cocktail and sake, which is Nihonsyu in Japanese. As you know, many people in Japan and Britain go there, and they eat some food or drink there with friends, family and couple. Today, there are about 50,000 English Pubs in Britain and 370,000 Izakaya in Japan. I explain their feature-their history, drink menu, food menu and style.
First, I introduce their history to you. The origin of English Pubs is a public lodging house and a general shop in Britain from the 18th century to 19th century. At that time, the guests called them Public House because they could not only drink but also stay or buy some goods there. Their room had divided by the class or sex because Britain was a hierarchical society. Of course, it is abolished today. This describes the feature of Britain society of those days clearly. On the other hand, the origin of Izakaya is liquor stores of Edo period. The main guests were men living alone. They drank and ate there. During Edo period Izakaya became common. There is a traditional comic story telling, which is Rakugo in Japanese, about Izakaya. The name of story is Izakaya. We can see the appearance of Izakaya at that time by hearing it.
Secondly, I explain their drink menu. The most popular drink in English Pubs is beer. There are a lot of kinds of beer there. For example, Pale Ale is one of the most popular beers. Pale Ale is the name of beer, and it tastes sour, bitter and has 4-5% alcohol content. Britain calls it “bitter”. The color is brown. Guinness stout is also one of most popular beer in Britain. Guinness stout is beer, which is made by Guinness company. The color is black and tastes sweet. In Japan, many people also drink Guinness stout . Thus a lot of kind of beer brands is drunk in English Pubs. Though there is soda in the menu, but most guests order beer. In contrast, there are many kind of drink menu in Izakaya. Of course, some people order beer, but others order different drink menu. Many young women order cocktail such as cassis orange, cassis soda and peach soda, and many old men order sake, syochu-Japanese distilled spirit- and whiskey. Thus there are many kind of drink in Izakaya, and guests order their favorite drink. This is different point during English Pubs and Izakaya.
Thirdly, I describe food menu where we can eat. The most popular food menu in English Pubs is fish and chips. This is because they marry beer. Most guests of English Pubs order beer and fish and chips. Of course, there is the other food menu such as roast beef, pasta and crisps. In some English Pubs, the guests can eat carry. However, there is only snack menu in general English Pubs. On the other hand, there are variety of foods in Izakaya. In general, guests order snack menu such as fried chicken firstly. Next, they order main menu such as nabe, and order last menu which is called Shime in Japanese. Thus guests can eat a lot of kind of foods in Izakaya. As above, you can find the different point of food menu.
Fourthly, I explain drinking style. The drinking style of two taverns is so different. In English Pubs, there are a lot of peculiar drinking styles. First of all, guests drink standing. They go to counter and they order some drinks to bartenders and pay there. This is called cash on delivery. In addition, there is a custom which is called buying a round. This is a custom that the representative pays when several go to English Pubs. These customs are peculiar to English Pubs. Meanwhile, in Izakaya guests drink and eat sitting. There is also peculiar custom in Izakaya. It is a custom called Otoshi in Japanese, which is a custom that food is served even if you do not order. This custom is specific to Izakaya. Guests of two taverns conform to these customs.
Finally, I explain the common feature and the difference point of them. Common feature is following. First of all, both of them are born about 400 years ago, and the styles have changed with the transition of the age. Secondly, guests of two taverns drink mainly liquor with friends there. This means that both two taverns are place where people enjoy talking. On the other hand, the difference point is following. First is drinking style. Guests of English Pubs drink standing, but guests of Izakaya drink and eat sitting. This reflects a difference of chair culture. In Japan, there was no custom to sit on a chair until Edo period, but Britain had the custom to sit on it for a long time. Second is a variety of food or drink menu. There are a wide variety and number of food and drink menu in Izakaya, but there is only a limited menu in English Pubs. This describes food culture of two countries. Japanese meal has a lot of variety foods and drink while the number of food menu in Britain is low. On top of this, chain stores of Izakaya were born in 1970th is one reason why the number of menu in Izakaya is high. Thus the common feature and the difference point of two taverns show the cultural difference of Britain and Japan.
